Bal Mitra

Bal Mitra was founded by a group of dedicated and experienced child protection experts who share a strong passion for safeguarding vulnerable children. Our founders carry extensive experience of working with children at both community and institutional care levels, giving them a deep understanding of the needs, psychology, and challenges faced by children.
With backgrounds in rescuing child labourers, working with children in institutional care, and providing rehabilitation support to survivors of child labour and trafficking, our founders bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Seven grassroots child protection workers came together to form Bal Mitra, driven by a shared commitment to protecting children's rights and well-being.
Our team has a proven track record of:
Rescuing child labourers and providing rehabilitation support
Working with children in conflict with the law
Extending legal assistance to survivors and their families
Providing training to law enforcement agencies
Collaborating with government agencies to drive impactful change
At Bal Mitra, we're dedicated to creating a safer, more supportive environment for children to thrive. Our mission is built on a foundation of expertise, compassion, and community-driven solutions. We protect children from harm, help them overcome trauma, rebuild their lives, and create a second chance for every child in conflict with the law.
